MJK Architecture utilizes an experienced team of Design Professionals committed to serve all of the client's needs, and we are eager to demonstrate our unique design capabilities and approach to client satisfaction. We utilize only a few selected consulting firms with whom we have ongoing projects and working relationships. Our consultants are truly recognized as experts in the field and bring to the table a wealth of knowledge on such critical issues as sustainable design, energy efficiency, LEED certification, and life cycle cost analysis. These consultants are tried and true, with extensive educational and public works facilities experience. This allows the client and our team to benefit from the ongoing working relationships as well as past experience in the effective completion of our projects.

COMPANY HISTORY:

​

The firm was originally founded in Oceanside in 1962 by Richard B. Young.  Michael J. Kant joined the firm as an architect in 1980. The firm was reorganized and became YLSR, AIA in 1993.  In June of 1996, YLSR, AIA was split and LR Design Associates was formed.  MJK Architecture is the continuation of LR Design Associates and has been organized as a professional corporation since 2008, offering a complete full service architectural firm.
